Gaza Artist Turns Israeli Air Strike Smoke into Powerful Sketches

As the world looks on with horror at the growing civilian toll in Gaza, and Hamas and Israel consider the terms of a U.S.-proposed ceasefire, one young Palestinian architect is responding to the crisis through art. Gaza-based Tawfik Gebreel aims to send a message, in the “universal humanitarian language understood by all peoples of the world.” He is using photos of the smoke thrown up by rocket strikes and reworking the images with symbols of hope and unity.

Acid attack survivors in India model new clothing range for powerful photoshoot

Survivors of acid attacks in India have become the face of a new clothing range designed by a woman who had acid thrown in her face while she was asleep four years ago. Delhi-based designer Rupa and her friends Rita, Sonam, Laxmi and Chanchal modelled the clothes from her new range, Rupa Designs, for photographer Rahul Saharan.

Rupa suffered extensive injuries when her stepmother threw acid in her face while she was sleeping in 2008.

She was allegedly left without any medical aid for six hours before her uncle found her and transported her to hospital, where she underwent eleven operations and spent three months being cared for.

The Biryani’s of India.
The name is derived from the Persian word beryā(n) (بریان), meaning “fried, roasted”. The dish originates somewhere around present day Turkey / Iran.
It came to India with Islamic traders from the region and was adopted by the Mughals here and made famous. It is now very popular across the Indian subcontinent from Kashmir to Kanyakumari from Sindh (Pak) to Burma. In fact it is the national dish of Pakistan and served in their airlines.
There are also many other famous varieties of Biryani in India like Kacchi, Tehari, Dhal, Fish, Chicken, Dindugal, Thalserry, Sindhi, Vaniambadi, Thalapakatti, Bhatkali, Rawther, Karachi, Kalyani etc

If anyone knows the source please link them!

Also Memon biryani!
